Dr. Pop is a popular education website that helps people become better story-tellers and strategic thinkers. We do this by telling stories ourselves, explaining complicated things in simple ways, and showing how and why we did it. Along the way we focus on how the economy, urban planning, and democracy work, provide living examples of how they can work better, and offer tools for organizers, educators, students, activists and all manner of curious people who are interested in change.

Uncle Joe doesn't think government should bail out irresponsible companies. If you watch the video, you'll learn ways you can have a rational discussion with Unle Joe and promote more just economic policies.

The team here at Reach And Teach believes strongly in what DrPop.org promises to do. We know the power of StoryTelling and have seen our friends at SmartMeme.org create significant change in our world through their consulting, training and advocacy. We first learned about "Popular Education" in our travels to El Salvador, and then were fortunate to partner with United for A Fair Economy in the Teaching Economics As If People Mattered curriculum and web site. Gilda Haas, one of the leaders of DrPop.org has done wonderful economics education work, including some videos on the Ten Chairs (on wealth distribution), which is one of the most powerful eye openers for teaching about our current economic situation. Finally, we know how critical it is to have good strategic thinking behind our movements in order for us to make any progress at all.

Storytelling, popular education, and good strategic thinking... that's the triple play peacemaking and social justice movements need!
