UPDATE: 11/27/2012 Thanks to everyone who purchased Girls are not Chicks or otherwise gave money which resulted in us raising $200 which is being donated to Girls for Gender Equality for the purpose of Superstorm Sandy relief efforts.
Reach And Teach co-founder Craig Wiesner grew up in Rockaway New York. First, in the housing projects at 414 Beach 58th Street, Apartment 5B, and then in a two-family house rental near Far Rockaway High School. That's Craig in Apartment 5B, wearing his very favorite vest!
Superstorm Sandy hit the Rockaways pretty hard a few weeks ago and the folks at Girls for Gender Equity sent out a message seeking supplies so that they could get in and offer assistance. When we saw their message we thought of a way to help them help the Rockaways.
Starting on Thanksgiving day and all through this weekend, we'll donate 50% of the purchase price of all copies of Girls Are Not Chicks, our gender-fantastic coloring book, to Girls for Gender Equity to support their relief efforts. Jacinta Bunnell, also a New Yorker and author of Girls Are Not Chicks responded to the idea by saying "I'm sitting here crying!"
We've all been heartbroken over the destruction caused across the East Coast by the storm. Please join us in providing a little help. We're sure you can find a good home for Girls Are Not Chicks!
Click here to buy the coloring book (or two, or three, or a dozen). They make great stocking stuffers!
