In case you haven’t heard about Artifact Puzzles, here’s the story on this wonderful group of artists based right across the bridge from our store!
Founded in 2009 as an experiment in the economics of micro-manufacturing, Artifact Puzzles is an artisanal puzzle company that designs, makes, and sells artsy laser-cut wooden jigsaw puzzles.
They offer two lines of puzzles. Their standard line has bright glossy prints that are maximally cheery, and reveal the unique puzzle designs. Their Ecru line of puzzles has matte prints that reduce glare, and closer-cut pieces that do not highlight the puzzle design as well, but better display the puzzle’s image. Their puzzles span a diverse collection of art that literally puts you in touch with past, present, and imagined civilizations. Their puzzle artists design a unique puzzle for every image, each design inspired by that image, to add charm and challenge to the puzzle experience.
Artifact Puzzles is based in Fremont, CA in the San Francisco Bay Area. They use environmentally-friendly plywood and soy-based inks. We hope you find Artifact Puzzles a rewarding way to relax and connect with friends and family.
Due to our licensing and distribution deal with Artifact Puzzles, you can not buy them in our online store, only in our physical store. But you can see a list of what we have (and are going to get) by looking at our Google spreadsheet at https://www.reachandteach.com/artifact144 .
